• Funeral services for Andrew C. Goering, 91, retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Moundridge community, were held Monday afternoon at the Eden Mennonite Church. Dr. H. A. Fast, interim pastor, officiated. Mr. Goering died Friday, Feb. 24, at a nursing home in Moundridge. He is survived by his widow, the former Katherine Flickner, three daughters, three sons, two brothers, one sister, 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

ANDREW C. GOERING
Andrew C. Goering, son of Christian and Katherine Goering, was born on March 8, 1875, near Moundridge, Kan. He was the first child born of the 1874 Mennonite immigrants in this area. He attended the local grade schools in the community west of Moundrige [sic Moundridge].
He was baptized on his confession of faith and accepted as a member of the Hoffnungsfeld Mennonite Church on Oct. 27, 1889. Later he transferred his membership to the Eden Mennonite Church.
On June 18, 1897, he was united in marriage with Katherine Flickner with whom he shared life's joys and sorrows for over 69 years.
To this union four sons and five daughters were born. One son, Martin, two daughters, Dorothy and Adina, and one grandson, Dean Goering, preceded him in death.
He passed away Feb. 24, having reached the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Katherine; three daughters, Sophie of the home, Emma, Mrs. Everett McWilliams of Halstead, Kan., and Fern, Mrs. Roland Goering, Reedley, Calif., and three sons, Rev. Peter of Lehigh. Lester and Orlo of Moundridge, and their companions; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, two brothers and other relatives and friends.
