Freeman, S. D. &#8212; A largely attended double memorial service was held at the Baptist church in Emery on April 20 as friends and relatives paid tribute to Elmer A. Glanzer, 46, and his seven-year-old daughter, Kiela Maree, who died in a car-train crash on April 17.

Mr. Glanzer was a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan university and a member of the St. Paul Presbyterian Church, Emery. The service was conducted by Pastor Carl Grondorf and Rev. Franklyn Jost.

The fatal accident occurred at Bridgewater when the car driven by Mrs. Glanzer was struck by a freight train. She was seriously hut but a son Lonnie, 10, escaped with minor injuries.

South Dakota Father, Daughter Die in Crossing Accident

Marion, S. D. — An automobile-train crash at the west edge of Bridgewater on Monday evening, April 17, claimed the lives of Elmer A. Glanzer, 46, and his seven-year-old daughter, Kiela Maree.

Mrs. Glanzer was taken to the Freeman Hospital with serious injuries, while 10-year-old Lonnie Ray Glanzer was not believed seriously hurt.

Tracks of the Northwestern Railroad pass through town in a northwesterly direction, and the car driven by Mrs. Glanzer reportedly collided with the engine of a freight train where the tracks cross a street at an angle.

Double Funeral Service Largely Attended

Freeman, S. D. — A largely attended double memorial service was held at the Baptist church in Emery on April 20 as friends and relatives paid tribute to Elmer A. Glanzer, 46, and his seven-year-old daughter, Kiela Maree, who died in a car-train crash on April 17.

Mr. Glanzer was a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan university and a member of the St. Paul Presbyterian Church, Emery. The service was conducted by Pastor Carl Grondorf and Rev. Franklyn Jost.
