Hutterite Parents Killed in South Dakota Accident
Parkston, S. D. — A head-on crash between an auto and a tractor near here on Sept. 5 claimed the lives of Joshua and Susanna Glanzer of the Greenwood Hutterite Colony and a 21-year-old farm hand of this community.
The Glanzers' seven-year-old son had been involved in a farm accident earlier, and they were returning home from taking him to a doctor when the crash occurred. While driving against the glare of the setting sun, they ran full speed into a small farm tractor.
The tractor was knocked off the road into a ditch, and overturned on the driver. The Glanzers' Travel-All was crushed and they died instantly. Their son suffered only minor injuries.
The Glanzers had seven children ranging in age from seven to 18.
The funeral was largely attended. Interment was made in the colony cemetery.
