LITTLE GIRL SUFFERS FATAL BURNS IN IOWA AMISH SETTLEMENT

Fairbank, Iowa. — Little Ada Gingerich, four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe O. Gingerich, suffered fatal burns in an accident at the farm home.

The girl apparently came too close to a gas light, which set her dress on fire. Her mother, who had been out helping with the evening chores, came into the house for the third time to check on the children when she found her daughter with all her clothing burned off. She was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, where death came shortly after midnight.

Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at the Joe J. Stutzman home.
