CHERYL ANN GERBRANDT

Our dear daughter, Cheryl Ann, was born on Feb. 7,1953, in Eldorado, Kansas. Her cheerful disposition brought great poy [sic] to us and to her older brother Steven Ray. Through the three short years of her life she displayed a great interest in Sunday school and singing of choruses such as Jesus Loves Me, This I Know, Heavenly Sunshine, and many others. One day, as an expression of her love for church and Sunday school, she came running in with the words that Jesus is everywhere outside and in the house and everywhere.

She was very lovable and affectionate to her parents and all members of the families she knew.

The wonderful sunshine which she was in our home has now been transplanted into the realms beyond where she is enjoying the friendship and fellowship of many others, among these also her grandfather, P. J. Koop, who preceded her in death.

On June 1, 1956, she submitted to heart surgery at the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas in order that she might be helped with a heart defect which she had had since birth. She was in the operating room for six hours, and then had another three hours in her room, but she did not regain consciousness, although the doctors did all that was humanly possible to do. Quietly and calmly she slipped over into the presence of Jesus whom she dearly loved.

She leaves to mourn her parents, Marvin and Lorna (Koop) Gerbrandt, her brother Steven Ray, her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. John J. Gerbrandt, her grandmother, Mrs. P. J. Koop, 29 cousins and many friends. — The Parents.
