Oldest Resident Dies

Kidron, Ohio. — Mrs. Lina C. Gerber, 96, oldest resident of the Swiss Mennonite settlement here, died April 17 at the home of a son, Elmer, near Dalton. She had been active until about a year ago.

The former Lina Sommer, she was married to Jacob M. Gerber, who was one of the founders of the Kidron Auction. He died in 1955. Surviving are three sons, three daughters, 27 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 21 at the Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, with Rev. Ray Himes and Rev. Isaac Zuercher officiating.
