Fairview, Mich. — Friends from this community attended memorial services at Au Gres, Mich. on March 13 for a son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gehman who lost his life by drowing [sic]. Rev. Joseph Atherton of Fairview and Rev. Nelson Averill of Twining officiated.

Recover Body Of Drowning Victim

Fairview, Mich. — The body of four-year-old Richard Gehman, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. Robert Gehman of Standish, was recovered recently from the Rifle River not far from the place where he drowned more than three months earliei4.

The little boy fell off an ice ledge into the swiftly-flowing river on March 8 and disappeared under the ice. Since then extensive efforts had been made to find the body, but it was not until the ice had gone from the river that the search was successful.
