— Funeral services were held Friday, June 4, at the West Zion church in Moundridge for William D. Galle, 80, who retired from the farm near Moundridge in 1942. He died at Mercy hospital June 1. Surviving are his twin brother, Dave, of Moundridge and a brother Jacob of Donnellson, Iowa.

William David Galle, son of Peter and Christine Krehbiel Galle, was born in Washington county, Iowa, March 29, 1874, and passed away June 1, 1954, at the Mercy hospital in Moundridge, having reached the age of 80 years, two months and two days.

At the age of four he came with his parents to Kansas and settled in McPherson county. With the exception of a few years and until his retirement in 1942 he farmed in the Farms community.

On Jan. 13, 1889, as a member of the first baptismal class, he joined the West Zion Mennonite church of which the late Rev. William Galle was pastor, and remained a member until his death. He was a member of the first men’s quartet of the church and also sang in the men’s chorus for a number of years.

In December of 1952 he suffered a stroke which left him bedfast.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Barbara Galle, Mrs. Anna Roller, and Theresia Galle of Moundridge, and Mrs. Mary Huxman of Arnold, Kansas. He is survived by his two brothers, his twin, Dave of Moundridge, and Jacob of Donnellson, Iowa.

The funeral service was held in the West Zion Mennonite church on Friday, June 4, Rev. Harris Waltner and Rev. P. K. Regier officiated.

William David Galle, son of Peter and Christine Krehbiel Galle, was born in Washington county, Iowa, March 29, 1874, and passed away June 1, 1954, at the Mercy hospital in Moundridge, having reached the age of 80 years, two months and two days.
