text of obituary:
Otto E. Funk was born April 10, 1903 in Hillsboro a son of Frank and Elizabeth (Ewert) Funk. He was one of four children, a brother, the Rev. Arnold Funk, who attends college at Bluffton, Ohio, Herbert, another brother at home and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Nickel of Hillsboro, with his father, surviving him. His mother preceded him in death.
The deceased has spent all of his life on the farm home near Hillsboro, with the exception of the years he spent at Bethel College.
On June 13, 1920 he was baptized upon his confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, after having received catechethical [sic] instructions from the Elder Wm. J. Ewert. He thus became a member of the Brutherthal congregation and was an obedient and faithful member in the church as well as in the family.
