EDWARD TIMOTHY FUNK

Edward Timothy Funk was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Funk of Coaldale, Alberta, March 19, 1959. At the early age of 6, Timmy realized his need for a Saviour and in the presence of his mother accepted Christ personally. For over a year he enjoyed school, but early in 1967 became ill. In June he underwent neuro-surgery for the removal of a malignant brain tumor. After temporary recovery, dark days of suffering returned. During his illness his trust in the Good Shepherd never wavered, and he expressed the longing to be with Jesus. He testified of his Saviour until, on Easter Sunday morning, it pleased the Lord to take home his little pilgrim.

Funeral services were conducted in the Mennonite Brethren Church in Coaldale on April 17, 1968. "Thy brother shall live ... believest thou this," (John 11:23-26) were the words of invocation read by Rev. D. J. Pankratz. Rev. H. P. Nikkel, uncle of the deceased, also brought a message, and Timmy's father spoke the benedictory prayer. Timmy leaves to mourn his parents, sisters Alma and Rosalyn, brothers Melvin, Arthur and Charles, paternal grandparents, many relatives and friends.
