Amish Brothers Die In Railroad Crossing Crash Near Goshen
Goshen, Ind. — Funeral services were conducted at the Orla Troyer farm residence near Topeka on May 14 for two teenage Amish brothers killed in a railroad crossing accident near Goshen on Sunday evening, May 11.
Dead are Andrew D. Frey [sic Fry], 19, and William R. Fry, 18, sons of William H. and Betsy (Yoder) Fry of Route 1, Topeka. Marvin D. Troyer, 18, also of the Topeka community, was a passenger in the car and was seriously injured.
The 1967 auto driven by William Fry was headed toward Goshen on the College Avenue road when the youth failed to stop for an oncoming freight train on the Penn Central tracks. The car was hit on the driver's side and was dragged a half mile.
Survivors in addition to the parents include two sisters and two brothers, all of the home, and the grandparents.
