Mrs. A. W. Froese.

Mrs. A. W. Froese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aron and Anna Thiessen was born in Russia April 28th, 1874. At the age of 11 years she moved with her parents to America in 1885. They settled at Halstead, Harvey County, Kansas, where they remained a few years. Later they moved to Marion County and then from there moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, in 1898. At the age of 21 years she joined the Alexanderwohl Church. She was married to A. W. Froese, April 16th, 1903 near Cordell, where they remained about 8 years. From there they moved to Taloga where they lived about 3 years. From Taloga they moved to Carnegie where she remained until about 2 weeks before her death. She was taken ill with dropsy and several other diseases about 8 months ago. For the last 5 months she was down in bed, being treated by different doctors at Carnegie and Oklahoma City with no results. Then doctor Neal of Cordell was recommended. She was given treatments with good results. She wished to be taken to Cordell where she could be with her relatives. She suddenly got worse, suffered a painful death, passing away June 9th at 6 o'clock A. M. 1928 at the home of Grandpa and Grandma Froese near Cordell, Okla. She lived in holy matrimony with her husband, Rev. A. W. Froese, 25 years, 1 month and 26 days. To this union 4 children were born 3 daughters and 1 son all of whom still survive. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her berieved [sic] family.

She lived a true Christian life. Before her death she stated to her husband and children that she was ready and prepared to meet God.

She reached the age of 54 years, 1 month and 11 days, and leaves to mourn her death her berieved [sic] husband, 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 son-in-laws, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, father and mother-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

In 1915 she joined the Greenfield Mennonite Church at Carnegie where she remained a faithful member until death. Funeral services were held in the Sychar church near Cordell, Okla., Sunday evening, June the 10th, 1928 at 4 o'clock. Dr. Harms held the opening service followed by Rev. Jacob Janzen of the Harold Church and Rev. H. D. Schmidt of Sychar. After the service the undertaker took the body back to Cordell where it remained until Tuesday morning. Then the body was taken to grandma and grandpa Froese. A short service was held by Rev. H. D. Schmidt in the German language and Rev. P. H. Unruh of Goessel, Kansas, in the English. Then she was taken to her home near Carnegie. Lunch was served at noon after the body was taken to the Greenfield Church for burial, services were held by Rev. P. H. Unruh of Goessel, Kansas.

The Choir sang several selections after the service the body was laid to rest in the Greenfield cemetery.

The berieved [sic] father and children mourn her going but not as those who have no hope.
