MRS. ELIZABETH FROESE

Mrs. Elizabeth (Friesen) Froese, a daughter of Mrs. Henry F. Friesen, was born near Buhler, Kans. on Jan. 2, 1906. She passed to her reward Nov. 11, 1955, in the Grace Hospital, Hutchinson, Kans., reaching the age of 49 years, 10 months and nine days.

At the age of 16 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, and was baptized by Rev. P. R. Voth and became a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church on June 4, 1922. On Aug. 1, 1937, she was united in marriage to Abe Froese of Burrton, Kans. To this union were born two children, Gerald Dean who preceded her in death, and one daughter, Janet Lee, of the home.

In 1943 Elizabeth together with her husband joined the First Mennonite Church of Hutchinson, Kans. where she was a faithful member. She took a keen interest in church work. She had a jolly disposition, and was known to many friends and neighbors. Her relatives knew her as a happy and willing helper. She was never too tired to come visit her mother daily.

Funeral services were held Nov. 14, 1955, at 2:00 p. .m. in the First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, Kansas. Rev. Leonard Metzger, the pastor, officiated, and burial was made in the Buhler cemetary [sic].

We cannot fully understand the leading of the Lord, and shall deeply miss her, but we also trust in the Lord, Who will strengthen and comfort our hearts. We mourn but not as those who have no hope, for we feel assured that she has gone to be with the Lord.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Abe; a daughter, Janet Lee, of the home; her mother, Mrs. Helena Friesen, Hutchinson; Six sisters, Sara, Mrs. Jake Unruh of Goessel, Selma, Mrs. Henry Wiebe of Newton, Kathryn, Mrs. Geo. Baergen of Bazine, Hulda, Mrs. John Miller of Hutchinson, Ella, Mrs. Elex [sic Alex] Weber of Wiley, Colo., Evelyn, Mrs. Nick Wiens of Newton; and three brothers, Henry S. of Aberdeen, Idaho, Bernard of Wiley, Colo. and Milton of Hutchinson; and many uncles and aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
