Inman Resident Killed In Car Accident
Inman, Kan. — Funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon at the Bethel Mennonite Church for Dickie Ray Froese, 20, who died from injuries received in a car accident Saturday night near St. Peter, in western Kansas.
The car driven by Joseph Erbanek, 18, of McPherson, in which Froese was a passenger, rolled over at a curve and both Froese and Erbanek were thrown from the vehicle.
The services here were conducted by Rev. Paul Isaac, pastor of the church.
Among the survivors are the young man's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Froese, Inman, a brother, Merle, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed F. Regehr and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Froese.

DICKIE RAY FROESE
Dickie Ray Froese, son of Eddie and Verna (Regier) Froese, was born Nov. 29, 1947, at Hutchinson, Kan. He died on Aug 17, 1968, in an automobile accident near St. Peter, Kan.
He was baptized on June 2, 1963, and received into the Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman, Kan.
He was a member of the grade school class which was the first to have all eight grades in the new Inman grade school. He attended Central Christian High School at Hutchinson during his freshman year. He graduated from Inman High school in the spring of 1966. He pursued his interest in cars and mechanics by attending the mechanics school in McPherson during forenoons of his senior year and by attending the Wichita Automotive Paint and Body School after graduation. He graduated from the Wichita school in 1967.
At the age of six months Dick went on his first harvesting trip with his parents. The many harvesting trips of his life became meaningful experiences to him. It was during these trips that he was able to establish meaningful friendships in the various places he worked. He worked with trucks, combines and machinery from an early age, and continued this interest until his passing. He loved to rebuild cars and work on motors. Because of this interest he joined the Shaundo Car Club of McPherson.
It was on a harvesting trip that he was injured in an accident on June 19, 1964, which injury affected him through the remainder of his short life. This caused him to be hospitalized first at St. Joseph hospital, Larned, Kan., and then he was transferred to st. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson. under the loving care of the staff at St. Elizabeth's he was able to recover enough to attend school int he fall of 1964. This injury caused him continual pain and during the years brought about many physical and spiritual struggles in his life. Through these trying years he did not lose faith in God.
Those who will miss him in his passing are: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Froese; his brother, Merle; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Regier and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Froese, all of Inman; aunts and uncles and their families and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established with the St. Elizabeth Hospital physical therapy unit in Hutchinson.
