CARL OTTO FROESE

Carl Otto Froese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry K. Froese, was born in Beaver County, Okla. on Jan. 14, 1906. At the age of three years he moved with his parents to Hydro, Okla. where he grew to manhood.

On June 17, 1923, at the age of 17 years he was baptized upon his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus as personal Saviour by Rev. Henry Reisen, and became a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church at Hydro, Okla.

On Nov.12, 1944, he transferred his membership to the Grace Mennonite Church of Enid, Okla. of which he was a faithful member until April 9 shortly after 12:00 noon when he was suddenly taken from our midst. He attained the age of 53 years, 3 months and 25 days.

On April 20, 1930, he was united in marriage to Caroline Buller. This union was blessed with four sons: Richard, Donald, Jim and Stanley. His father preceded him in death.

Carl had rheumatic fever at the age of 14, and this left him with a heart condition which developed into an enlarged heart. He enjoyed good health until September 1958 when his sickness became more serious. He was forced to quit his job with the Sooner Freight Lines on Feb. 20, 1959.

His condition became such that on March 26 he entered the General Hospital in Enid. He was dismissed on Sunday, April 5, with his condition greatly improved, and was able to attend church service that evening, which was the last worship service he had the privilege to attend. He was stricken with a heart attack April 9 while talking to his son Richard in the basement of the church, and in a matter of a minute he was gone.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Caroline, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Susie Froese of Hydro; four sons, Richard and Donald of Enid, James of the U.S. Air Force, Marietta, Georgia, and Stanley of the home; three sisters, Esther, Mrs. John Fadenrecht of Cordell, Okla., Lydia, Mrs. Noble Glasco, and Clara, Mrs. Ray Bishop, both of Bethany, Okla.; one brother, Irvin of Orville, Calif.; two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

The funeral took place on April 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grace Mennonite Church. Albert J. Unruh was in chard, using for his text Ps. 73:23, 24.

The Lord gave, the Lord hath taken; blessed be His holy Name. We sorrow not as those that have no hope, but as those that have a most blessed hope.
