ANNE FROESE

Anne Froese was born March 4, 1923 in a village near Winkler, Man., to Henry and Katharina (nee Wiebe) Froese. Here she also received her education. The family moved to Elm Creek in 1937, where she accepted Christ in her later teens. She graduated from Winkler Bible Institute after four years of study. After baptism she was received into the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church, and has always been strong in her faith.

She worked in Winkler for some years, then moved to Winnipeg and worked at various places, including as a cook at the Mennonite Brethren Bible College, a companion for an elderly lady, and a nurses' aid at Lions Manor.

Anne first received treatments for cancer in the summer of 1975, but never really regained her strength. She was readmitted to hospital on August 5 with severe pain, which never left her until she went to be with her Lord on September 21. A funeral service was held September 24 at the Elmwood Church in Winnipeg.

She was predeceased by her mother in 1942 and a brother in infancy. She leaves to mourn her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Froese in Clearbrook, B.C.; three sisters, Helen (Mrs . Henry) Bergen of Winnipeg, Kay of Winnipeg, and Marion (Mrs. Wilf) Phillips of Castlegar, B.C.; three brothers and their wives, Henry and Mary, John and Esther and Art and Doreen, all of B.C.; 14 nieces and nephews; and many friends.
