● Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon in the Alexanderwohl Church for Mrs. D. B. Friesen, 77, of Route 2, Newton, who died Sunday at Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. Officiating at the services will be Rev. Aaron Epp, the pastor, Miller Funeral Home of Goessel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Friesen, the former Susie Goertzen, was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Her marriage to Mr. Friesen took place in 1918, at which time they moved to the present farm home near Goessel. He survives with a son, Randolf, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. T. J. Deasy of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Alvin Goerzen of rural Newton, and Mrs. Nick Martens of Inman; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elmer Friesen of Newton; 11 grandchildren; five brothers and one sister.
