MARIA FRIESEN

(Mrs.) Maria Friesen of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on December 17. She was born on January 17, 1894 to Abram and Anna (Epp) Guenther in Ekaterinoslaw, Russia. She grew up in Arkadak, and on January 21 , 1918 married Cornelius Martin Friesen in Grigorjewka. In summer 1924, the couple and three daughters emigrated to Canada and settled in Heuboden, Man. She was converted to the Lord in 1929 and on August 9, 1929 was baptized into the Niverville Mennonite Brethren Church. The couple later lived in Prairie Rose, Man. In 1944 they moved to Vancouver, where they lived till 1971. In 1971 they moved to Menno Home in Abbotsford. Since June 1979 she had stayed with her daughter Nettie and Henry Wall. She is predeceased by her husband Cornelius, and survived by one son and his wife, six daughters, four sons-in-law, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.
