MARIA FRIESEN

Maria Friesen of Clearbrook. B.C. passed away Nov. 4. She was born Mar. 19, 1892 to Peter and Helena Friesen in Memrik, Russia. She became a Christian at 17. At 18 she was baptized and joined the MB church. In 1918 she married J.C. Friesen. In 1926 they immigrated to Canada. They lived in Steinbach and Winkler, Man., Coaldale, Alta. and Chilliwack, B.C. In 1948 son Nick was killed in a car accident. In 1965 her husband was killed in a car accident. She is remembered by her sons John of Surrey, B.C. and Walter of Chilliwack; daughters Helen Martens of Abbotsford, B.C. and Erna Hamm of Clearbrook; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters. The funeral was in Broadway MB Church, Chilliwack, with grandson Robert Friesen ministering.
