MANITOBA RESIDENT KILLED WHEN HIT BY TRUCK IN SNOWSTORM

Altona, Manitoba. — Stormy winter weather was a contributing factor in the recent death of Abram J. L. Friesen, 37, of Rosenort, who suffered fatal injuries in a highway accident near Morris, Man.

Friesen was working on the engine of his car, which had stalled in a snow drift, when struck by the box of a tree-ton truck which narrowly missed hitting the car. Visibility was poor due to blowing snow.

Neither Friesen's companion, Walter Barkman, or the truck driver, Jacob H. Klassen, was injured.
