LEE ROY FRIESEN

Lee Roy, darling son of Orville and Ruth (Fricke) Friesen, was born May 23, 1954, at the McPherson County hospital, and passed away Dec. 10, 1954, at our temporary home at Barren [sic Barron], Wis. at the age of six months and 16 days.

Little Lee Roy's arrival brought much joy into our family circle. He was a healthy and robust child. Little did we realize that his stay would be so short. Those gentle little hands and his loving smiles shall long be remembered.

Thursday he received an immunization injection. Thursday night he could not rest as usual. As [sic] 3:30 Lee Roy needed attention and his mother took him in her arms, gently rocking him to sleep, not realizing it was for the last time. At 6:30 we went to his bedside, only to learn that he had quietly and peacefully fallen asleep in Jesus. We keenly feel our loss, yet we are assured that the Lord has taken him from this world of suffering to his heavenly home where he is forever at rest.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his grieving parents, one brother and one sister, Orley 3 and Jeanette 2; 10 uncles, 10 aunts, grandparents, P. E. Friesens and Mrs. Sam Frick [sic Fricke], great grandmothers, Mrs. F. C. Fricke and Mrs. Aganetha Giesbrecht; and many relatives and friends.

The funeral took place Dec. 13 at 1:00 p. m. at the home of the grandparents, P. E. Friesens, and at 2:00 p. m. at the Zion church, near Inman, Kans. John Ensz chose for his text Job 14:1-2; John 14:1-3 and Job 1:21, after which the little casket was carried to the nearby cemetery for burial. At the graveside service A. R. Toews read 1 Cor. 15:43, 44. After the service a lunch was served in the church basement.
