MRS. KATIE FRIESEN

Mrs. Katie (Thiessen, Janzen) Friesen, age 82, died Feb. 13, 1968 in Premont, Texas. She was born Katie Thiessen on Sept. 22, 1885 in Jansen, Neb. She was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church on Oct. 1, 1905.

She married Jacob G. Jansen, who had seven children whom she loved and cared for. To this marriage was born one daughter, Hulda.

In 1929 the family moved to Premont, Texas. Mrs. Janzen [sic Mr. Jansen] passed away on Nov. 29, 1937 in Premont.

After some years Mrs. Jansen was married to J. R. Friesen of Premont, and moved into the Friesen home on the farm.

She was a member of the United Mennonite Church in Premont. She loved the Holy Scriptures and read them faithfully. to care for her flowers in the yard was her heart's delight.

Mrs. Friesen is survived by one daughter Hulda, Mrs. Homer Webb, husband and grandson Michael of San Antonia; the Friesen children, Mrs. Malinda Wiens, Reedley, Cal., Mrs. Anna Flaming, Fresno, Cal., Ed. Friesen, Mrs. Bertha Weigel, Mrs. Alice Lee, and John Friesen, Guymon, Okla. (one son Ferd of Lake Charles is deceased); the Jansen children, Anna, Hillsboro, Kan., Walter, Paxton, Nebr., Harold, Ogallala, Neb., Herbert, St. James, Minn., Rev. Henry Jansen, La Pryor, Texas, Rev. Albert Jansen, Medora, Kan., and Mrs. Esther Force, Mansfield, Ohio; and two brothers, J. T. Thiesen [sic Thiessen] of Dallas, Ore., and John Thiesen [sic Thiessen] of York. Neb.
