MRS. KLAAS F. FRIESEN

Mrs. Klaas F. Friesen, nee Elisabeth Huebert, was born May 8, 1861, in Waldheim, South Russia. At the age of 13 she, with her parents, Peter Hueberts, came to America and to Henderson, Nebr., where she made her home until the time of her death.

She was among the first group of Mennonite settlers here, of whom only a few are still with us. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith and received into the Bethesda Mennonite church in 1879.

She was united in marriage with Klaas F. Friesen on March 7, 1892, and to this union were born twelve children: Klaas, Peter, Gerhard, Katherine (Mrs. P. D. Friesen), John Henry, Frank, Dietrich, Elisabeth (Mrs. John P. Siebert), Agnetha (Mrs. B. G. Friesen), Isaak, and Marie (Mrs. Ernest Epp), Peter, Henry, and Dietrich preceded their mother in death.

The parents were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 1932. On May 22, 1936, father passed to his eternal reward.

For the past few years her health had been failing and her desire was to go home to be with the Lord. She passed away Jan. 5 at 10:10 a.m., having reached the age of 88 years, eight months and three days. She leaves to mourn her departure nine children, seven daughters-in-law, four sons-in-law, 61 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister-in-law, and many other relatives and friends.
