HENDERSON, NEBRASKA
January 2, 1991

David P. Friesen of Aurora died Dec. 17. He was born on a farm near Henderson to Peter and Eva (Abrahams) Friesen. He attended Henderson schools, Bethel College in North Newton, Kan., and York College. He taught school in Henderson for 20 years. He married Anna M. Tessman at Henderson. They farmed near Hampton for 11 years and in 1955 moved to Aurora, where he worked for the Soil Conservation office for several years. Later he worked for Farm Aid and Lyle Shaneyfelt Produce. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school. He also sang in male choruses in Henderson and Aurora. Survivors include his wife, Anna; two sons, Jerry and Max; two daughters, Norma Hirtsell and Lois Northrup; one brother, William of Henderson; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Peter, Henry, Abraham W. and Jake; four sisters, Sarah Kroeker, Eva Friesen, Anna Ratzlaff and Tina Friesen; and one infant grandchild. — Matilda Hiebner.
