Jacob L. Fricke was born to Fred C. and Leah B. (Litwiller) Fricke on Nov. 7, 1893, near Ithaca , Mich. He peacefully passed away at Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, Ohio, in the early morning hours of June 3 at the age of 74 years, six months, 26 days. He had been in failing health the last year. He grew to manhood.

He grew to manhood in the Ithaca community. He served in World War I, spending 13 months overseas. When he came home he was converted and was baptized on Jan. 27, 1920 into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in which faith he remained until death.

On Oct. 26, 1922 he was married to Myra Seiler. They established their home in the Archbold, Ohio community. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for nearly 47 years. He was a kind and loving husband and father.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Myra; three children, Leanna and husband Stanley Sundberg, of Grafton, N. D., William and wife Carolyn of Pettisville, Ohio, Orville and wife Delight of Archbold; 13 grandchildren and many foster grandchildren, brothers Harvey of Defiance, Ohio and John of Middleton, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Hiebert of Middleton, Mich., Minnie, Mrs. Ivan Schneider of Carson City, Mich., Clara, Mrs. William Friesen of Ithaca, and Elizabeth, Mrs. Clifford Mastre of Grafton, N. D. Proceeding [''sic''] him in death were one granddaughter, Marcia, brothers Ed and Sam, and sister Elizabeth who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held on June 6 at 2 p.m. at the Central Mennonite Church conducted by Walter Stuckey and Charles Gautsche of the Archbold community and Herman Mininger of Harrison, Mich. Burial was made in the Pettisville Cemetery.
