MRS. CLARA R. FRICKE

Clara Steiner Fricke was born April 18, 1889, near Hesston, Kansas to Jonathan and Salome Holdeman Steiner, and passed away the morning of Jan. 21, 1959, at the age of 69 years, nine months and three days. She joined the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in early life and was a member until death.

She was married to Eddie J. Fricke on August 4, 1912, and after their marriage they lived on a farm near Middleton, Mich. Her husband preceded in death on Jan. 31, 1951. To this union nine children were born. The family moved to Monroe, Ind. in 1924 where they lived for 14 years. Business affiliations prompted the family to move to Indianapolis where Mrs. Fricke lived a full and active life.

A son, Benjamin, was killed in a plane crash on March 23, 1944, while serving in the United States Army Air Corps. The surviving children are Wilbur of Dayton, Ohio; Esther (Mrs. M. L. Habegger) of New Augusta, Ind.; Neva (Mrs. S. K. Bell) and Mabel (Mrs. E. F. Hohlt) both of indianapolis; Harold of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Doris (Mrs. Howard Hinman) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Lawrence of Denver, Colo. and Patricia (Mrs. James Hull) of Indianapolis.

One grandchild preceded her in death and 21 grandchildren survive. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Ann Steiner Gleckler, Lena Steiner and Anna Steiner Jantz, all of Hesston, Kansas; two brothers, Albert Steiner of Newton, Kansas, and David Steiner of Canton, Kansas; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 24, at Berne, Ind., Rev. Eli Steiner officiating.
