ELISE K. FREY</h3</center>

Elise K. Frey, daughter of Bernhard and Marie Entz Regier, was born Aug. 22, 1884, near the present site of Elbing, Kan. She received her elementary education and Bible instruction in the nearby district school. On June 10, 1900, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith in Christ by Elder C. H. Regier and became a member of the Zion Mennonite Church, in which she was active in various ways.

She also took special interest in missions and relief work, contributing generously to the spreading of the gospel at home and abroad. She was faithful in her duties at home, caring for her aging mother and later keeping house for a brother.

On June 10, 1937 she was united in marriage to Henry Frey. After living in the Elbing community for one year, they moved to Newton where they spent nearly 15 years of married life. On Feb. 19, 1952, her husband passed away. After the passing of her brother, Bernhard, in 1956, she was the last of her immediate family to remain.

When it became evident that she was no longer able to be alone and conduct her own affairs, she took up residence at the Schowalter Villa at Hesston, Kan. She suffered a severe heart attack from which she seemingly recovered, but on July 19 the Lord delivered her from this body and received her unto himself.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. B. P. Regier, her children and their families, her husband's children and their families and many relatives and friends. She reached the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 17 days.
