BENJAMIN C. FREY

Benjamin C. Frey, son of Cornelius and Helena Schmidt Frey, was born Sept. 3, 1895, in Marion County, Kansas. He departed this life on Oct.1 at his home in Denver, Colo., at the age of 65 years and 27 days.

He was baptized into the Bethenian [sic Bethania] Mennonite church at Coy, Okla., in 1914, by Rev. H. R. Voth. He attended the preparatory school at Goessel, Kan., and Bethel College.

After pioneering with his parents in Woods County, Okla., from 1908 to 1916, he moved with his parents to Newton, Kan. On Sept. 2, 1924, he was united in marriage to Frieda Ewy of Weatherford, Okla. This union was blessed with on [sic] son, Bryce, of Los Angeles, Calif.

After having been associated with the Regier Loan & Abstract Company in Newton, Ben and his family moved to Wichita in 1935, joining the Prudential Life Insurance Company. After nine years in Wichita, he and his family moved to Denver, Colo., in December of 1944. There he completed his 25 years of service with the company, receiving his retirement the day preceding his death.

Besides his loving wife and son, he leaves to mourn his passing, two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Sara) Schmidt, Mrs. McLoren (Marie) Temple; and one brother, Arthur J. Frey, all of Newton, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Having a deep interest in people and their welfare, he took up insurance work, where he felt he could be of service to his fellow men.

The funeral was held Oct. 4 in Denver, Colo., and his body was laid to rest in the Fairmount cemetery in Denver.
