text of obituary:

Frederick. — In Philadelphia, on Jan. 10, Eliza Frederick at her sister’s home, after many years of suffering from cancer in the face, which made her a living death, as little less than the skull remained when death came. The sister was a faithful member of the First church of Philadelphia. To the natural eye she was a spectacle of horror, but to the Christian mind she was a loving child of God. Her submissive spirit, her unflinching faith in God and her devotion to Christ kept her from the sin of murmuring and complaint, “it is God’s way of dealing with me. His will shall be done” were the words she often said to her pastor who spent much time with her. Her age was 71 years, 2 months and 10 days. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. N. B. Grubb, on Monday evening, the 12th inst. Interment was made the next day at the Towamencin Mennonite church, where her pastor also officiated.
