ARTHUR MARIUS FOSSUM

Arthur Marius Fossum was born May 7, 1891 at Appleton, Minnesota to Olaf and Anna Fossum. He came to Canada in 1912 and worked in the Demaine area and homesteaded in the Beechy district. He lived on his farm until his 1962 retirement, when he moved to the village of Demaine, Sask.

Mr. Fossum was a quiet and devout Christian. Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, he was baptized upon confession of faith in the Apostolic Church near Swift Current in 1943, after accepting Christ as his personal Saviour. During his years in Beechy he attended the Beechy Mennonite Brethren Church regularly even though he did not become a member.

He passed away March 7 at the Pioneer Home in Outlook, Sask. He was predeceased by three brothers and is survived by two sisters and five brothers as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Beechy MB Church on March 11 with Pastor Edward Giesbrecht officiating. Many visitors gave gifts to the Gideon Memorial Bible plan.
