WIDOW OF AUTO PIONEER CALLED IN DEATH
Mrs. Henry Ford, a farmer's daughter who came to great wealth and renown because of her husband's inventive genius and business abilities, died Sept. 28 from an heart ailment. She was 84 years old.
Clara Bryant Ford and Henry Ford, who died in 1947, lived together for over 60 years. From the time of their marriage, when he was an unknown mechanic in a small machine shop until he became world famous, she was constantly at his side as adviser and helpmate.
The wealth accumulated by her husband as founder and president of the Ford Motor Co. has been estimated at close to one billion dollars. Their span of life turned out be be of equal length, Henry Ford also having been 84 at the time of his death.
Four grandchildren survive, one of whom — Henry Ford II — is now president of Ford Motor Co.
