text of obituary:

Mrs. Jacob B. Flickner

Mrs. Mathilda Flickner, wife of Jacob B. Flickner and daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Soft was born in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, September 18, 1907.

Here she spent her childhood days and youth attending school.

On the 14th day of September 1923 she was baptized upon confession of Faith by Rev. N. W. Bahnmann and thus became a member of the Pretty Prairie Church.

On the 8th day of May 1927 she was united in marriage to Jacob B. Flickner of the Eden Church at Moundridge, Kansas. And on June 16th, 1929 she transferred her membership to the Eden Church of which she remained a faithful member until her death.

To this union were born tw children: one of which preceded her to the beyond. A little daughter, Neva Jane, was born December 29, 1929, which in her infancy is not aware of her mother's departure.

Only a week ago the mother became critically ill and she was immediately placed under doctor's care. But the Almighty has planned it different for in spite of all medical attention, nurses and doctors care, her life ebbed away and she passed to the beyond on January 9, 1930.

She reached the age of 22 years, 3 months and 21 days.

Funeral services were held from the Eden Mennonite Church on Sunday January 12th and burial was made in the Eden Church Cemetery. A very large representation of people attended this funeral from Kingman and Pretty Prairie as well as from the Moundridge Community to give their last tribute to this young sister who passed to her reward. — Moundridge Journal.
