• Funeral services were conducted at the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge for Jacob B. Flickner, 56, farmer and lifelong resident of that community who died at Bethel Hospital here June 7. He had been in failing health for months. Survivors include his wife, Frieda, three daughters, one son, four sisters, one brother, and five grandchildren.

JACOB B. FLICKNER

Jacob B. Flickner, son of Benjamin and Freni Flickner, was born near Moundridge, Kan. on Nov. 27, 1906. He received his elementary education at Pleasant Ridge School and attended Moundridge High School.

On June 3, 1923 he was baptized by Rev. C. J. Goering upon the confession of his faith and received into the membership of the Eden Mennonite Church, to which he remained faithful to his death. He was a member of the board of trustees at the time of death.

On May 8, 1927 he was united in marriage to Matilda Soft. Two children were born to this union, one of which died in infancy. They were permitted to share life's joys and sorrows for almost three years. On Jan. 9, 1930 the Lord called the wife and mother to her heavenly Home, leaving the husband and infant child, Neva Jane.

On Feb. 14, 1932 he was united in marriage with Frieda Stucky, who was a faithful wife and good mother to Neva Jane. Five children were born to this union, of which two died in infancy. In this union they shared life's joys and sorrows for over 31 years.

He was always in good health and enjoyed farm life. Approximately six months ago his health began to fail and he submitted to surgery on Feb. 11 and again on May 6. He suffered much pain in recent weeks. His cheerful disposition enabled him to always smile and express appreciation for everything, even in the trying hours of his life. In spite of all possible medical care and attention given him he passed on peacefully to his heavenly reward on Jun 7, 1963. He reached the age of 56 years, six months, and 11 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted wife Frieda; four children, Kenneth of the home, Neva Jane and husband Homer Gehring, Florence and husband Ronald Wedel, Doris Jean and husband Duane Classen; five grandchildren; Grandmother Soft; four sisters, Katie and husband John Graber, Marie and husband Rudolph Schwartz, Adina and husband, Dave Schrag, and Mrs. Lydia Walker; one brother Andrew and wife Emma; three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of friends. — The Family.
