text of obituary:
AGED HILLSBORO CITIZEN KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT
Hillsboro, Kansas, march 22. — Thursday morning of last week, about 7:30, while returning from getting the milk from one of the neighbors, Andrew Flaming, age 81, was struck and killed instantly, by a Ford touring car driven by Ernest Funk, on highway No. 50 N.
Mr. Flaming, who was somewhat hard of hearing, was in the habit of going after the milk each morning, and was starting to cross the highway when hit by the car. The driver of the car, se3eing the old gentleman, sounded his horn and slowed up. Mr. Flaming apparently stopped and the driver started ahead just as Mr. Flaming stopped in front of the car and was hit before Mr. Funk had time to realize what had happened.
At the coroner's inquest it was determined an unavoidable accident and the driver of the car was exhonerated [sic] of all blame. — Star.
