Bolt of Lightning Kills Three Kansans

A 62-year-old Hillsboro, Kan. resident, his son-in-law and a grandson were killed Sunday near Hoyt, Kan. when a bolt of lightning struck a cottonwood tree where they had taken refuge during a thunderstorm, according to press reports.

Dead are Albert H. Toews, James F. Fisher, 38, and three-year-old Larry D. Fisher.

Hoyt is located about 15 miles north of Topeka.
