Young Father Dies of Polio

Soudersburg, Pa. — Stricken while attending a wedding in the Amish settlement here, 25-year-old David K. Fisher was admitted to the Lancaster hospital the following day and died three days later. Death was attributed to paralytic polio, the first fatality from the illness here in a number of months.

Private funeral servies [sic] were held at the home on Dec. 3.

The young husband and father is survived by his wife, Elsie, daughter of bishop Samuel F. Stoltzfus, and their two small daughters; his parents, Samuel B. Fishers; grandparents, David Kings; and four sisters. He had been farming the home farm.
