MR. JACOB J. FISCHER
Mr. Jacob J. Fischer was born on Nov. 28, 1877 in South Russia. He came to Kansas when 14, and moved with his parents to Laird in the early 1900's. He moved to Oklahoma in 1907, was married there, was saved and baptized there as well. He returned to Canada in 1907 and farmed for 35 years. His wife died in 1941, and he subsequently married Elizabeth Mandtler of Dalmeny, Sask. They spent a few years in B.C., but returned in 1950 and lived in Sask. till his recent death. He was predeceased by his wife, a grandson, his parents, and 10 brothers and sisters. He leaves to mourn his wife Elizabeth, 4 sons, 2 daughters, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 26 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Laird M.B. Church on Nov. 7 with Rev. Eugene Gerbrandt officiating.
