MANITOBA YOUTH, 21, DROWNS WHEN BOAT SWAMPS IN LAKE

Winkler, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held here May 16 for John Richard Fehr, 21, who drowned in Lake Minnewasta near Morden after the boat in which he and four companions were riding was swamped.

The outboard motor boat in which the five young men were riding began to fill with water from leaks. When they tried to speed up to reach shore, it swamped. Four of the youths were rescued from the water.

John Richard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fehr, Winkler.
