Witwe Anna M. Eymann, (Upland, Calif.) geb. Rauch, ward geboren am 3. April 1853 zu Franklin, Iowa. Als Mädchen schloß sie sich der Evangelischen Gemeinde an. Am 23. Jan. 1876 verehelichte sie sich mit Herman A. Eymann. Das junge Paar siedelte später über nach Moundridge, Kansas, wo beide sich der Mennonitengemeinde anschlossen und dieser Gemeinschaft bis zu Ende treu blieben. In 1903 siedelte die Familie über nach California, wo sie zuerst in Reedley und dann in Upland wohnten und sich hier auch ständig ansiedelten. Sechs Töchter und drei Söhne machten mit den Eltern den frohen Familienkreis aus. Ein Sohn und auch der Gatte, der am 1. Jan. 1911 starb, sind der Mutter vorangegangen. Die Ueberlebenden sind: Frau A. J. Ruth, Frau Paul Schowalter, Frau L. L. Harms, Gertrude Eymann und Frau H. A. Ledig von dieser Umgegend und Frau W. R. Goerz, Los Angeles, C. C. Eymann, Hollywood und Edgar G. Eymann, Huntington Park. — Mutter Eymann war fast 4 Jahre ans Bett gebunden; aber es war den Kindern ein Trost, daß sie scheinbar nicht große Schmerzen dulden mußte und mit langsam abnehmender Kraft kam ein sanftes Ende. — Die Begräbnisfeier ward in der Mennonitenkirche unter Leitung des Predigers A. J. Neuenschwander gehalten. Text Jakobus 4, 8. Die Verstorbene ward 79 J. 10 M. u. 20 T. alt.

— Word was received here of the death last week of Mrs. Herman Eymann of Upland, California. Mrs. Eymann had been in poor health for some time. Further particulars were not learned.

Eymann — Mrs. Anna M. Eymann, nee Rausch [sic Rauscher], was born April 3, 1853 in Franklin, Iowa. As a girl she joined the Evangelical church. On Jan. 23, 1876 she was married to Herman A. Eymann.
Later the young couple moved to Moundridge, Kansas, where she with her husband joined the Mennonite church and to which church she remained faithful to her end.
In 1903 the family came to California, first going to Reedley but a year later they came to Upland where they established their permanent home.
Six daughters and three sons made up the happy family circle. One son and the husband who died Jan. 1, 1911, preceded the mother in death.
Mother Eymann had been bedfast for almost four years. It is a comfort to her family that for a long period the mother seemingly did not suffer much pain, finally there was a gradual sinking and the end came very peacefully.
Funeral services were held in the Mennonite church, her pastor, Rev. A. J. Neuenschwander using the verse: “Draw nigh to God, and he will dear nigh to you.” James 4:8 as text.
Mrs. Eymann died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1933, thus bringing her age to 79 years, 10 months and 20 days.
