— Misses Dorothy Ewy and Emma Linscheid went to Hanston last Sunday to attend funeral services for Miss Ewy’s grandmother, Mrs. Magdalen Ewy, who died there Thursday at the age of 98. Death resulted from a broken hip suffered several days earlier. Mrs. Ewy, who was born in Austria in 1852, arrived at Halstead, Kans. in 1883 and moved to the Hanston community two years later. She leaves two sons, two daughters, three step-daughters, one step-son, and a number of grandchildren and great grand-children. The services were conducted by Rev. Harry Albrecht at the Hanston Mennonite church.
