— An auto accident last Sunday night on K-19 east of Larned claimed the life of Mrs. Jake R. Ewy, 61, of Hanston, sister of Mrs. J. C. Dester and Mrs. A. J. Brubacher of Newton. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday afternoon at the Hanston Mennonite Church. Surviving are her husband, two sons and two daughters, four brothers and three sisters. According to reports of the accident, the Ewys were traveling west when Mr. Ewy pulled over to pass several tractors and the car struck an oncoming car driven by George Ellis of Sylvia. the Ewy car spun around and went into the ditch and Mrs. Ewy was thrown out.
