Funeral services for Mrs. David Ewert, 74, of Alsen, N. D., were conducted Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Rosehill Mennonite Brethren church near Munich, N. D. with Rev. John Guenter officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ewert died early Friday morning, Dec. 1, 1961, at the Mercy hospital in Devils Lake having been a patient there for about two weeks.

The former Regina Guenther was born in Russia, Sept. 8, 1887. In January, 1888, she came with her parents, Rev. and Mrs. John Guenther, to the United States and settled at Mt. Lake, Minn. In April 1898, they came to North Dakota and settled in the Munich community.

On July 15, 1906, she was united in marriage to David Ewert. They made their home on a farm in Moscow township near Munich. In the fall of 1948, they retired to a home in Alsen.

Surviving Mrs. Ewert are her husband, David, a daughter Mrs. John Benke (Helen) of Fresno, Calif., four sons, John, Munich; David, Underwood, Minn.; Abram, Fergus Falls, Minn., and Arthur, Munich; four sisters, Marie (Mrs. John Reimer) of Tacoma, Wash., Annie (Mrs. John Thiessen of Munich, Elizabeth (Mrs. Abe Thiessen) of Eugene, Ore., and Helen (Mrs. James McLean) of Starkweather; two brothers, John of Seattle and Henry of Starkweather. Fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Mary, Tina and Susie, and a daughter, Evelyn.
