In his infinite wisdom and love, on Oct. 17, God called Manley into his eternal Home. We rejoice now that he sin the presence of his Saviour. We believe it is significant that exactly one year before his homegoing, while attending a special chapel service at Berean (Rev. The verse he quoted in his testimony was Philippians 1:6. — Mrs. Walter K. Ewert and Family.

MANLEY KENT EWERT

Manley Kent was warmly welcomed into our home May 24, 1947. He was especially his father's pride and joy. In babyhood he was dedicated to the Lord.

Manley's childhood days seemed brief, because at an early age he began to work along side his father on the farm north of Elbing, Kan. All 17 years of his life he attended the Elbing Missionary Sunday School and church. His favorite childhood Bible verse was I Peter 5:7.

On Oct. 11, 1957, after returning home from evangelistic services in the church. Manley realized his need of the Saviour. Kneeling between his parents he confessed his sins and by faith received Jesus Christ as his own personal Saviour. He was baptized upon his confession of faith on Aug. 14, 1960 and united with the church the next November.

Manley received his elementary eduction in the Elbing Schools. After moving to Newton over four years ago, he attended Chisholm Junior High. He was an active participant in athletics, basketball being his favorite. In this his senior year at Berean Academy, he was anticipating a full year, both in studies and in sports. When on Friday noon, Sept. 25, he and two of his classmates were involved in a car accident, we were immediately reminded of Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Upon committing Manley completely into the loving care of his Heavenly Father, He gave us peace, rest and assurance that all would be done well and for God's glory.

In his infinite wisdom and love, on Oct. 17, God called Manley into his eternal Home. We rejoice now that he sin the presence of his Saviour. He was also granted his desire to be reunited with his father who preceded him only 18 and one-half months before. We believe it is significant that exactly one year before his homegoing, while attending a special chapel service at Berean (Rev. Vernon Duerksen being the evangelist) Manley responded to the invitation, making sure of his relationship with the Lord. The verse he quoted in his testimony was Philippians 1:6. — Mrs. Walter K. Ewert and Family.
