ALBERT EWERT

Albert Ewert was born March 20, 1923 to Jacob and Minnie Goertz Ewert at the farm home north of Hillsboro, Kan. where he lived the rest of his life. He attended the Unruh Grade School and the Hillsboro High School.

He was baptized June 5, 1938 by Rev. S. M. Musselman, and joined the Johannestal Mennonite Church. The church has been greatly blessed by his many years of faithful and unselfish service as organist, pianist, and choir director for children and young people. He also sang in the men's quartet of the church for many years.

His God-given creative ability in art, woodworking and horticulture has been an inspiration to many. Many a young boy has learned the technique of woodworking from Albert during the numerous years he served as 4-H woodworking leader.

Albert always enjoyed good health. He lovingly helped care for his aged parents by tending the family farm.

On Sept. 15, 1966 he had to undergo serious surgery. On Feb. 26, 1967, while at Salem Hospital, he quietly passed away to be with his Maker, at the age of 43 years, 11 months, and six days.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, and two nephews. He leaves to mourn his departure five sisters and two brothers, all of Hillsboro: Mrs. William Brandt (Anna), Mrs. Ben Plenert (Edna), Mrs. Menno Plett (Marie), Mrs. H. H. Bartel (Dora), Ben and Earl Ewert, and Arpa Ewert, nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. — Sisters and Brothers.
