REV. ALBERT EWERT

Albert Ewert was born to Zacharius and Rosina Ortman Ewert on June 11, 1907 near Marion, S. D., and passed away on March 5, 1966, having reached the age of 58 years, eight months and 22 days.

He received his elementary education in a rural area of Marion, S. D. and furthered his training at Moody Bible Institute and the Northern Baptist Seminary, Chicago, Ill. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in his teen years and was baptized by Rev. Jacob A. Tieszen.

He was married to Rosie Tieszen on Feb. 15, 1934. They shared joys and sorrows for 32 years and 18 days. Five children were born to this union.

Our husband and father received a call from the Bethel Lustre Church of Lustre, Mont. in April of 1934 and served there for seven years. He was ordained into the ministry in 1936. The Bethel Wolf Point Church at Wolf Point, Mont. extended Pastor Ewert a call which he accepted and served for six years.

Father was asked to serve the New Hutterthal Church of Bridgewater, S. D. in 1947. He served here until June of 1955, when he could no longer serve in this capacity because of physical ailments. During thee years of ministry he conducted many evangelistic campaigns and many souls were saved as a result.

He was afflicted with Parkinson's disease for about eight years. On Feb. 25, 1966 he was advised by a local doctor to have a thorough physical examination by a specialist in Sioux Falls. This examination led the physician to the conclusion that father was suffering from hardening of the arteries.

Father still had hopes and plans for the future, such as going into radio work, and wanted to conduct more evangelistic meetings. The afternoon of March 5, 1966 at 3:00 p.m. he went up town to get the mail when he suffered a heart attack which was fatal.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delilah; his parents; one brother, Clarence; and one brother-in-law, Emanuel Ortman.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Rosie; four children, Ruth, Mrs. David E. Glanzer of Spenser, S. D., Reuben and Amos of Waterloo, Iowa, and Priscilla of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son-in-law, David E. Glanzer, and two daughters-in-law, Jewel, Mrs Reuben Ewert, and Donna, Mrs. Amos Ewert; eight grandchildren; one brother four sisters, his wife's parents, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. a large host of relatives and friends mourn his early departure. — The Ewert Family.
