— Word has been received here of the death of Samuel Ewert, Marion, who died on December 4, at the Salem hospital in Hillsboro. Mr. Ewert, formerly was a member of the Brudertal Mennonite church, where he was active in serving as choir director, member of the male quartet, Sunday School superintendent and Sunday School teacher for many years. When making his home in Marion he transferred his membership to the First Presbyterian church there. Funeral services were also conducted at that church on Friday, Dec. 7, with Rev. Arnold E. Funk, pastor at Brudertal, and Rev. H. Spencer in charge. Mr. Ewert leaves to mourn his departure his wife and children: Howard Dean, Margery Ann and Stanley Dale; his mother, Mrs. Wm. Ewert, two sisters Mrs. J. A. Bartel and Miss Elizabeth Ewert of Hillsboro; four brothers, Arnold and Leo, both of Hillsboro, William of Hutchinson and Henry of Abeline [sic Abilene].
