Dr. Paul Ewert Passed Away Suddenly At Golden, B. C.

WAS BORN AT NEWTON, KANSAS, THE SON OF PROFESSOR AND MRS. H. H. EWERT

Dr. Paul Ewert, son of Professor H. H. Ewert, died suddenly from hear attack at Golden, B. C., at his home on Sunday night at about 11:30 o'clock, February 4, 1940. He reached the age of 56 years, 5 mont5hs and 9 days.

The funeral took place at Golden, B. C., Wednesday, February 7. He was born at Newton, Kansas, August 23, 1883. In 1891, at the age of 8 years, he came with his parents to Gretna, Manitoba. Here he attended public school and the Mennonite Collegiate Institute. later on he attended Bethel College at Newton, Kansas, where he was born, and then the College at Oberlin, Ohio, where he took his degree. After that he studied medicine at McGill University at Montreal, where he graduated in 1912.

He spent one year as interne in Vancouver General Hospital, and then came to Golden, B. C., where he has been ever since, in the practice of his profession. About one year he spent overseas in England with the Army Medical Corps during the time of the war.

On October 4, 1921, he married Miss Anne Beattie. Two sons were born to them, Vaughan and Carl.

Besides his dear wife and the two sons there are his three brothers, Dr. Carl Ewert of Prince George, B. C., William Ewert of Altona, Manitoba, and Professor Alfred Ewert of Oxford, England, and one sister Elma Ewert, a graduate nurse, at present at Port Chester in the state of New York, and many other relatives and friends to mourn his sudden passing away. The undersigned is an uncle of the deceased. — Benjamin Ewert.
