Missionary Called By Death in Ethiopia

MRS. ROHRER ESHLEMAN, 27, OF VIRGINIA DIED OF CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE

Harrisonburg. Va. — Word was received May 17 by cablegram of the death of Mrs. Rohrer Eshleman, missionary at Nazareth, Ethiopia. The funeral was held the morning of May 19 in Africa. Mrs. Eshleman, who lived in Park View three years while attending Eastern Mennonite college, died of cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 27.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Rohrer Eshleman; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton L. Keener, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; also four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Paul Gingerich and Mrs. John Drescher, Park View, Miss Marie Keener, a freshman college student at EMC; Mrs. Harold Shenk, Washington, D. C.; and Robert Keener, Reston, Pa.

Mrs. Eshleman, who was the former Ellen Keener, was a graduate of both the high school and college departments of Eastern Mennonite College. Her husband is head physician at the Nazareth hospital. Her parents are serving as missionaries sixty miles distant from where the Eshleman’s live. Their address is Mennonite Mission, Box 794, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her brother, Robert, and his wife, the former Florence Weaver, are under appointment to serve as missionaries in Tanganyika Territory, East Africa.
