Magdelena (Gingerich) Esch, daughter of Dan and Lydia (Kaufman) Gingerich, was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage and passed away suddenly on August 27 at the age of 58 years, eight months and even days.

She was born near Clarion, Iowa on Dec. 20, 1894, the oldest of eight children. On April 24, 1932, she was married to John Esch at Flint, Mich., and they lived on a farm near Au Gres, Mich.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, John Esch; her aged parents; one sister Katie at home; four brothers, Eli of Turner, Mich., Joe, Edward and Daniel, Jr. of Au Gres; also many other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Ralph and Amos, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Conservative Mennonite church in charge of Elmer Jantzi, Noah Swartzentruber and Levi Swartz. Interment was made in Whitney cemetery.
