Inman, Kan. — The body of Ben J. Esau, 49, farmer here, was found Monday morning in a field where he had been applying ammonia fertilizer with a chisel and tractor.

A passerby noticed the empty tractor and notified the Inman marshall. Officers said it appeared Mr. Esau fell off the tractor and one wheel of the chisel ran over him. It was not known immediately whether death was caused by injuries or an attack of illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon at the Inman Mennonite Church, with Rev. Ben Friesen officiating. Survivors include his widow and a son, Mike, of the home, two married daughters, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Esau of Inman.
